Who We Are

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Enabled by God’s grace, we are sowing seeds of God’s love, growing into faithful Christ followers, and going into the world to share God’s love.

At Bethlehem United Methodist, we embrace the rich heritage of our past, and the exciting ministries of our present. As we look forward to the future, we admit we remain a work in progress. As with all living things, our fellowship is always in a state of growth. We believe we are called to be growing deeper in our relationship with God and with each other, reaching further to impact our community and world with the love of God.

The Bethlehem Church logo that you see on this site says much about who we are. In this logo we see at least two different but connected figures. One figure is a strong tree with spreading roots, a knot in its trunk, and a healthy canopy. This tree represents Bethlehem’s beautiful natural setting (where many such trees dot the landscape), our strong roots in this community (which grow deep in the rich soil of our heritage), and a healthy, growing church that is spreading in our abilities and influence.

In this logo we also see a person who is standing with arms outstretched into the clouds. This person represents our fellowship praising God, reaching up to God, and stretching beyond our limits to be more of who God is calling us to be. This image reflects our call to be growing deeper in our relationship with God and with each other, and reaching further to impact our community and world with the love of God.
